The Kenston Rotary Senior for November is Callen Buchanan, who has worked throughout high school to excel both academically and athletically. Callen maintains a 4.5 GPA, is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit Commended Scholar, and the recipient of multiple class awards. He has been a WRC Scholar-Athlete for the past three years, earned Most Improved honors twice as a member of the Boys Varsity Swim Team, and has participated in Junior Golf, Varsity Swim, and Varsity Track.
Callen’s leadership and involvement extend across many school organizations. He currently serves as President of Kenston’s National Honor Society, Vice President of Interact Club, and the senior class secretary. He has also been active in Math Club, Trivia Club, and the school’s morning announcements, dedicating himself to both service and school spirit.
Outside of school, Callen works as a certified lifeguard at the Chagrin Valley Athletic Club and has accumulated over 150 community service hours, with the Chardon VFW pancake breakfasts being his favorite place to volunteer. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors with friends and working on his car. Looking ahead, Callen hopes to attend the United States Naval Academy to study aerospace engineering and commission as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
