The Kenston Middle School Nutrition Services staff brought the spirit of Oktoberfest to the Kenston cafeterias on Monday, October 27, 2025, with a fun, festive lunch! Students enjoyed a delicious themed menu featuring traditional flavors, while lively polka music played in the background to set the scene.
Inspired by the KMS kitchen manager, Helena Svoboda, the team proposed hosting a themed lunch this month —one that was both tasty and nutritious and aligned with school nutrition guidelines. As Svoboda noted, regulations provide boundaries, but creativity and fun can thrive within them.
Andrew Mendez, Nutrition Services Director, shared, “Our goal remains simple: to serve food that’s nutritious, delicious, and keeps those smiles shining every day!”
The Oktoberfest celebration was a wonderful reminder that healthy meals can be exciting, flavorful, and full of school spirit.
