Monday, October 20, Timmons Elementary School proudly joined schools across the nation in celebrating National Writing Day! Established to highlight the importance of writing in all its forms, TES embraced the day with activities that celebrated writing as a critical component of literacy and self-expression.
Principal Dave Rogaliner and Assistant Principal Kristen Hasenohrl kicked off the event by reading the inspiring book “Daniel Finds a Poem” to the entire school. Following the reading, they challenged students to reflect on the prompt: “Why do you write?” By sharing their own reasons, they encouraged every young writer to discover the power and purpose behind their words.
To conclude the celebration, the entire school participated in a focused seven-minute writing block, putting pencils to paper and embracing the joy of creative expression.
At Kenston, writing is more than just words on a page; it is a way for students to share their stories, explore their ideas, and express their dreams.
