Kenston Schools is proud to share about a great experience our highschool students had in Mr. Murphy’s business class. Business students had a unique opportunity to learn directly from a successful entrepreneur during a live Zoom presentation with Dr. Juan Salinas, founder of the healthy snack brand P-Nuff Crunch.

Dr. Salinas, whose company gained national attention after appearing on the television show Shark Tank, spoke to students about his journey from idea to successful product. During the presentation, he shared how he created P-Nuff Crunch, a protein-packed peanut puff snack designed to be both nutritious and delicious.

Beyond the television spotlight, Dr. Salinas focused much of his talk on entrepreneurship, perseverance, and innovation. He encouraged students to pursue their ideas, take calculated risks, and learn from challenges along the way. He also discussed the importance of market research, branding, and believing in your product.

Students were able to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into a successful brand. Experiences like this help connect classroom learning with real-world applications, making business education more engaging and meaningful for students.

Kenston Middle School students recently welcomed a special guest speaker who is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) - an organization dedicated to preserving history by studying and reenacting life from the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

Our guest is a former Kenston substitute teacher who has been sharing her passion for history with our students for the past 15 years. Many of our students also recognize her from 7th Grade Camp, where she helps lead the always-popular Medieval Night activities.

During her visit, Linda spoke with students while dressed in 9th-century Anglo-Saxon attire, giving them a unique opportunity to see and learn about historical clothing, culture, and daily life from the medieval period.

Experiences like this help bring classroom lessons to life and make history both engaging and memorable for our students. We are grateful for Linda’s continued dedication to Kenston and for sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with our middle school learners!

Did you know that Timmons Elementary School was fortunate to welcome Katie Nainiger from the Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District, who visited Kindergarten classes to help students discover the importance of planting and farming, as well as the many foods and products we get from plants and farm animals? 🐄🌽🐖

Mrs. Nainiger read “Planting a Seed” 🌱 and guided students through activities that reinforced their learning as a part of their Plant Unit. The extensions to the learning are a valuable part of the student experience. The partnerships with our local resources have been very meaningful, as they provide real-world connections to the topics our students listen to and read about.

We are grateful to the Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District for sharing their time and resources with our school! 🍎

🎷 Kenston is extremely proud of the following students who played in a concert with the Ohio Music 🎶Education Association District 7 Honor Band on Friday, February 27th at Mentor High School. 🎺

Photographed from left to right - Becca Gudgel, Lucy Speed, Ellia Rautenberg and William Thomas.

These talented students performed with students from 25 other schools in northeast Ohio. They worked very hard on this music on their own and were able to perform a lovely concert with only 8 hours practicing as a group.

Way to go, Bombers! ✈️💙 Your musical talents are incredible!
