Avari Amstutz was selected as the Rotary Club of Chagrin Valley senior of the month for March at Kenston. Teachers and staff at Kenston describe Avari as kind, athletic, and sincere.

Avari excels academically, maintaining a 4.49 GPA and earning AP Scholar with Distinction recognition. Her academic honors include the Excellence in Mathematics Award, the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, and multiple academic awards across various subjects. In addition to her academic success, she is highly involved in extracurricular activities at Kenston High School.

Avari demonstrates strong leadership at school as the President of Interact Rotary Club. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, serves as a peer tutor, was the secretary of the Spanish Club, and is a member of the Bomber Bash Lead Crew.

Avari is also a leader in athletics, serving as a four-year varsity captain of the Kenston Volleyball team. Through her involvement in the volleyball program, she has organized toy drives, helped run volleyball camps, and served as a mentor to younger players in the sport. One of her proudest athletic accomplishments came after countless hours of practice, games, and tournaments, when she committed to play volleyball at a Division 1 program.

In addition, Avari was instrumental in bringing the Kenston Girls and Women in Sports Night back to Kenston alongside fellow athletes Grace Gettig and Morgan Cicek. Sports have played an important role in her life and have helped shape the athlete she is today. She believes it is important to give back to the community and support and inspire the next generation of female athletes in their athletic journey.

Looking ahead, Avari plans to attend Stony Brook University on Long Island to study Biology on a Pre-Med track while competing on their Division 1 volleyball team.

Kenston Schools is proud to share about a great experience our highschool students had in Mr. Murphy’s business class. Business students had a unique opportunity to learn directly from a successful entrepreneur during a live Zoom presentation with Dr. Juan Salinas, founder of the healthy snack brand P-Nuff Crunch.

Dr. Salinas, whose company gained national attention after appearing on the television show Shark Tank, spoke to students about his journey from idea to successful product. During the presentation, he shared how he created P-Nuff Crunch, a protein-packed peanut puff snack designed to be both nutritious and delicious.

Beyond the television spotlight, Dr. Salinas focused much of his talk on entrepreneurship, perseverance, and innovation. He encouraged students to pursue their ideas, take calculated risks, and learn from challenges along the way. He also discussed the importance of market research, branding, and believing in your product.

Students were able to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into a successful brand. Experiences like this help connect classroom learning with real-world applications, making business education more engaging and meaningful for students.
