SENIOR ✈️ ACE AWARD: Congratulations to Evelyn Lucarelli, who was nominated by 🌎 Social Studies Teacher Charlotte Gruver. This award recognizes our Seniors for their Achievement - Citizenship - Excellence, as well as the teachers and staff members who honored them.
⭐ Mrs. Gruver said, “Eve is patient, kind, and very understanding when working with groups of students who need extra help and explains the concepts to them. Eve really "teaches" others and helps those who struggle. Eve is polite and respectful to myself and all teachers. Congratulations to the 🏀 Boys Basketball Head Coach Josh Jakacki who was celebrated as the newly anointed all-time winningest boys basketball coach prior to the final home game of the season versus Mayfield.

This year, ✈️ Kenston has welcomed the successful return of the head coach to the Kenston sidelines after several seasons away coaching Crestwood.

🏆 On February 10, the Bombers defeated Willoughby South for their 18th win of the season, clinching their first WRC Championship since the 2021-22 season.

That championship marks the sixth of Coach Jakacki’s Kenston coaching career and more importantly, was his program-leading 149th career victory as the new leader in Kenston Boys Basketball.

🎉 To help celebrate the 149th career victory, Kenston Athletic Director Reid Guarnieri and Kenston Athletic Booster President Jeff Lechak joined with Coach Jakacki’s family and presented Coach Jakacki with a game ball and special banner marking his accomplishment.

💙 The night was capped off with an impressive win (now win #150) over Mayfield and the team moving on to playoff basketball.

🎉 A huge shoutout to Brooke Carlson for qualifying to Speech and Debate Nationals in Congressional Debate for the second year in a row! Even more impressive, Brooke was recognized as the Top Congressional Debater in the Cleveland District for the entire season. What an amazing honor and a testament to her hard work and leadership.
🎉 We also celebrate Liam Heintz for reaching the final round and earning the distinction of being an alternate to Nationals. Competing at that level is no small feat, and Liam’s performance showcases his skill, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.
⭐ We are so proud of both of you for representing your team and community with such excellence. The future is bright—congratulations on an extraordinary season!

Huge Congratulations goes out to Brooke Carlson who received the Gay Janis Award for Speech & Debate which is a prestigious annual honor presented by the National Speech & Debate Association! This award is considered one of the highest individual honors in high school speech and debate in the country.

The award is given to one recipient each year who demonstrates:
⭐ Outstanding competitive achievement in speech and/or debate
⭐ Exceptional leadership
⭐ Service to their school and the broader speech & debate community
⭐ Strong character and commitment to the activity
